Rainy day sketches

Since it’s currently rather chilly and rainy (48 F), I figured today was a good time to plan out where things might go once the frame is complete and the sprouts start growing.

I came up with a simple sketch of where these veggies (and herbs) could be planted.

The plants include:

  • Lettuce – Iceberg type A
  • Lettuce – Salad Bowl
  • Carrot – Tendersweet
  • Pea – Sugar Snap
  • Squash – Early Summer Crookneck
  • Lavender – English

I should note that in addition to this bed, there will be two other areas of planting. One will include tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and any other incidental plants. The other will consist of corn, beans, and okra.

After sketching a quick plan of the little garden, I decided to get back to actual art and try a graphite wash of a picture of my horse. It’s been quite a while since I’ve messed around with creating, so I’m excited to see how it’ll turn out.
